CHICAGO, IL – Founded in 1990, and merged with Howard Brown Health Center in 2007, Lesbian Community Care Project‘s (LCCP) vision is that lesbian, bisexual, and queer women and transgender individuals (LBT) have appropriate and accessible healthcare in a supportive and bias-free environment. They accomplish this through cancer support, healthcare advocacy, and health education.

Joining the LCCP staff is Lisa Katona, MSW, Patient Navigator. Lisa has worked in Howard Brown’s case management department for the last two years providing care to individuals living with HIV. As LCCP’s patient navigator, she will use her training as a clinical social worker to support lesbian, bisexual and queer women as they access medical and behavioral health services at Howard Brown.

Expanding her roleisChristina Santiago, Manager of Programming. For more than two years, Christina has been a critical link between LCCP and Howard Brown in creating relevant care and access for lesbian, bisexual and queer women as they seek care at Howard Brown. In this new role, Christina will focus on implementing LCCP's programming and outreach efforts in Chicago.

“Both Lisa and Christina bring unique perspectives and experience to LCCP,” said Cat Jefcoat, LCCP’s Director. “It’s an exciting time for LCCP as we expand our programming and explore new ways to reach the LBT community. Lisa and Christina will be critical to the process as we move forward.”

Howard Brown Health Center is one of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) organizations serving more than 20,000 adults and youth each year with diverse health, social service, and research programs. For more information about Howard Brown visit
